I was told my uncle gave away his olive groves to his niece around 1950 when she married.
Her name was possibly Maria Gianfrancesco.
She may or may not be alive and I have yet to find out who she married so I can't find children.
What is the possibility these olive groves still exist and are still in the family?
The Italian telephone directory lists four Gianfrancesco's in Capriati a Volturno, including a Maria Antonia Gianfrancesco.

Perhaps you should write some letters?

I did, going in the mail today. An earlier post I made for Gianfrancesco had given me a reply with the 4 names and addresses.
I would like to know if anyone knows the area who has been there or lives there.

The next best thing(if you can read andunderstand Italian) is to go to www.tiscali.it and put in Volturno or Volturno Olive (olives) in the search box for thousands of references to Volturno which will familiarize you with Volturno in all of its aspects should no one with knowledge of the area get back to you. =Peter=

Be patient because they do not necessarily need an exact bithdate and are probably sorting thru the records. In Italy the clerks at the Registry offices do their research after closing their doors to the public. Wait a couple of weks and then send a follow-up to your cousin. =Peter=

abt the second reply, they found in Roccamandolfi common, only the births abt:
-Costantino Gianfrancesco b.1872 Roccamandolfi
- Bartolomeo Berardo Gianfrancesco b. 1866 Roccamandolfi
If you wish the birth photocopies you must send 5 euros in a envelope with cover letter...

Thanks so much. So I need to send money. Should I send money to my cousin and let her get the copies since she speaks Italian and lives there?
