Loporto

Hi,
I'm from Malta and i know my great great grandfather came from Sicily, Im looking for any information on the surname Loporto, I know that Rocco (Roque) Loporto was born in Terranova (Gela) 15/04/1846 but this is the only information i have been able to dig up. Any information about the surname Loporto or how/who i need to contact to learn more(parents/siblings) would be really appreciated.

The name Loporto appeard in only 2 towns in Sicily, Gela and Alimeena. There are about 40 towns with the name Lo Porto, but Gela has about 75 people with that name.

the surname is LO PORTO with spaces, very popular is Sicily; you can search in Mormons microfilms
