Baccin from Treviso

Post by albacim »

Hello to all: I write from Brazil.

I`m looking for the location in Italy where my ancestors came from, in order to obtain my granfather´s birth certificate(probably from local catholic church).
My name is Alvaro Baccin, 54, my father Miro Baccin, born sept 1927,both brazilians.
My grandfather Olivo Baccin, Italian, came to Brazil with 05 years old with brothers, sisters and his parents Giacinto Baccin and Caterina (Gottardi) Baccin, between years of 1886/1888, from the region around Treviso, Venetto.
Thanks for your help.
Alvaro Bacim.

I suggest that you go to this Treviso State Archive site. PUT YOUR SURNAME ONLY IN THE COGNOME field only. Five Baccin's come up.

I would suggest that you write letters to the three comune listed with others of your same surname.

I researched the www.memorialdoimigrante.com.br and there are 24 Baccini and Baccini but like the Treviso website they do not provide the town of origin and none of the 24 have the first names that you list such as Olivo and Giacinto much like the Treviso website above.

I think that Trevisan 2 advice is to write to the three towns in the hopes that one of them is the town of origin for your family.

When you write for documents use the form letters and instructions on the website http://www.angelfire.com/ok3/pearlsofwi ... tters.html

Wow!! I found it . . . at least I think. It must be a brother, because the parents are the same.

Third one down in the town of Salgareda

Just type in Baccin.
Just to let you know, the comune usually has birth certificates from 1871 and forward. Let me know in a few months, if you don't get a response and I will get it for you.

Also, here is a link to Salgareda.
