On the World War I draft registration, Cassina Cassara Italy is listed as the birth place of a relative. I have googled this location and I am not sure I have the right location. It shows the location in Milano, Italy.
Thanks for any input to get the right location.

Reviewing a fairly complete list of Italian comuni and frazioni, I am unable to find any references to Cassina Cassara or even a reasonable spelling variant.

Can you tell us what you found in your Google search?

Also, can you post an image of the draft card (or a link to it)?

I was about to say, "But, Cassino is in Frosinone province..." but come to think of it, was that area part of Caserta province prior to 1920-something?

Cassina is in Northern Italy and Cefalu Cassara is in Sicily???? www.nonsolocap.it and take a look by putting in Cassina inthe first try and Cassara on the second try. Can you clairfy???? =Peter=

maybe if you say us the data abt your ancestor, by ship's manifest we can find the right place...

If the entire thing is two words then these two words could easily be Cassino, Caserta. If they are two versions of one place name then it could be anywhere.

Thank you for all your inputs and effort. I found the passenger list for PASQUALE MASSARELLA. It lists the birth place as Cassino. The port of arrival and date was New York on 19 July 1913. The ship was the Barbarossa. I really should have included the more information when I first posted. Thanks for the quick replies.

John, the birth place of Pasquale is Cassino, at date of immigration, Cassino was in Caserta province( currently: Frosinone province) ...
