Im looking for some information on my ancestors Raffaele Scarpetti & Maria Faiella Scarpetti - possibly of Salerno, Campania, Italy. They were born circa the 1830s, and Im not sure if they ever immigrated to America. They had at least one daughter, but Im not sure of any others. The one daughter was Rosa (Rosina) Scarpetti Trollo (1860 - 1913). Any further info on these people would be very much appreciated. Thanks to all in advance;

Scarpetti - Faiella Family Help!!
Re: Scarpetti - Faiella Family Help!!
Did Rose immigrate? Since Salerno is a province as will as a city, it would be easier to trace the comune of birth if we could start with ship's manifests.
Re: Scarpetti - Faiella Family Help!!
Yes, Rosa did immigrate in about 1892 with her first three children: Giovanna, Antonio, & Maria. Her husband came in 1890, his name was Carmine Trollo. Ive seen her son Antonio's naturalization papers, and I just realized it stated that he was born in Nocera Superiore, in Salerno. Hope this heelps;
Thanks again, Nick

http://www.angelfire.com/ok3/pearlsofwi ... tters.html and request the daughters estratto di nascita and work backward. Its free of charge and once you know the name of the town of origin (In Italy most records are where the births,marriages an deaths took place be it a city, a town or even a village!!). Since you know the town go to www.tuttiitalia.it/campania/61-nocvera superiore and put in the name of the town and send your letter to the Ufficio di Stato Civile, Municipio address and the town name,zip code and region.
The form legtters are in Italian so you do not have to worry about the language and itsd all free of charge. =Peter=
