Di Vincenzo / Severino

Post by Leveeblues »

According to the 10 year index for 1896-1905 Alia, Calogero Di Vincenzo and Giuseppa Severino were married with two daughters (Vincenza and Michele) On the 1898 Passenger List of Arrivals, New Orleans, La. USA, Calogero and daughters are listed. Looking for death/other info on Giuseppa. Also can not find Calogero on LA 1900 census. It is assumed that Calogero and Giuseppa were NOT married in Alia as there was no listing there.

Side note: A Carmella (sp) Nola was in the same steerage location as the above DiVincenzos and Michele (Michilina) was listed with Ms. Nola on the 1900 Louisiana, USA census.

For everyone's reference, here's the 1898 manifest you mentioned

Oct 1898, SS Bolivia
Calogero Di Vincenzo 33, abt 1865
daughter Michelina 2, abt 1896
daughter Vincenzina 6 mos, abt 1898

edit: corrected Vincenzina's age

According to records in Sicily, the age of Vincenza DiVincenzo should have been 6/mo., not 6, as listed on the 1898 Passenger Manifest.

Thank you, I wondered why she was listed last
Does her birth record list where her mother was born?
Her parent's marriage record should be in the comune of her mother's birth
Thank you, Valarie
