Angela Rosa Iannotta birth

Post by oilman19 »

I found Angela Rose Iannotta's birth act. :D It was good timing and a little luck. I didn't even know when she was born.

Jim,
The first page has the left side cut off. Any chance you can repost it?
I can read 1844 February 19 as the date of the record.
Declarant looks like Lucanxxx Iannotta, son of deceased Nicola. 40, farmer. Address is Strada S. Erasmo

I'll take a look at page 2

I should have proofed it better. I'll have to re-scan it if need be. Sorry.

Mother is Caterina Capale, daughter of Mattia (sp?) 35.

Notation at end:
On 23 February 1869 she married Domenico Perrotta

Left side notation on Page 2:
On 27 September 1888 she married Graziano Aniello

Hi Jim,

Both marriages took place in SMCV. The date you mentioned is actually 19 May 1870, not 1890, and is the date that the FIRST marriage was recorded.
The second marriage was recorded on 14 June 1889.

Here another puzzle for you to ponder... :-)
One of the witnesses is named Domenico Perrotta, 40, farmer.

I would say, based on the naming patterns of the Italians, it could have been Domenico's grandfather. Maybe someday I will get that far.
For now, I have re-scanned page 1 for clarity.
Thank you, Tessa.

Hi Jim,

Page 1 - left side
Record is dated 19 February 1844
At the Town hall in SMCV appeared Lucantonio Iannotta son of deceased Nicola, 40, farmer, living at Strada Sant'Erasmo to declare that a female baby was born

Page 1 - right side.

This records the baptism of Angela Rosa Iannotta at the Church of Sant'Erasmo on 21 February 1844.

edit: By the way, the number written out in the bottom right column is ottantto which is just the page number (see top of page)

Could Angela Rose's mother be "Papale"?

Yes, I think you are correct...Papale.
The first letter of the last name doesn't resemble the "C" in Caterina.

I also forgot to mention that Angela's second marriage, to Graziano Aniello, is recorded as #128 for that year.

I need some help with Angela's 2nd matrimoni. Can you verify which is the surname for her 2nd husband? Also, how old is Aniello because Angela is already 44? I'm reading his age as 29.
Can anyone read his mother's name? Also, what is the word following S. Maria (sudetta?).

Thank you,

Jim
