Need help reading surname on birth record

Post by jo123 »

Hi,

I am having trouble reading the name of Grazia Filleti's mother on this birth record. I can read the first name as Maria, but the surname doesn't look like anything familiar to me for the town of Sinopoli. It is on the 10th line of the record on the far right. I can't tell if it start with an 'I' or a 'T'.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Josie

Will get another image next time I go to Family History Centre. Some of the microfilm viewers are clearer are than others.

I imported the document into my photo program and was able to zoom in more on the surname. I see the surname Tuterdonato which is actually a surname existing in Sicily and not specifically in Sinopoli, at least not currently.

Actually a search of the current Italian white pages does not yield any listings for the surname, even if one varies it in spelling, at least, as far as I can tell. A search of the Ellis Island passenger lists, however, does yield individuals with the surname, even varied as Tuterdonati. Those individuals though do appear to have arrived in this country from various towns in Sicily.

The 2 Tuterdonati entries in Ellis Islannd are incorrect transcriptions, the correct spelling from the manifest is Interdonati

The Italian White Pages show 286 entries for Interdonato and 1 for Interdonati.

Hi there,
I was thinking that it looked like interdonato, but it I hadn't heard of it before. I just wanted to make sure I had the correct name before adding it to my family tree.
Thanks everyone for your help.

Hi,
I just realised I also need help with the father's first name. It is on the 7th line far left. It looks to me like Fausto or Santo. What do you think?

Thanks again.

I believe it is Fu Santo, meaning he is deceased.

I can't see the word "fu", I read Filleti Santo.
