Anthony Cantone

Post by eric5021 »

I am trying to find information on the family Cantone. I was told they were located in Sicily. My great-great grandfater was Anthony Cantone.

Anthony Cantone married Angelina Saladino. Angelina was born in 1865 and died September 1917. They lived in New Olreans, LA and had the following kids:

Son - Russo: (may be a nick name) born 1893 - died 1960
Son - August: born 1901 - died 1921
Son - Charles:
Daughter - Angelina Cantone
Possible son - Anthony born 1888

Anthony Cantone married Amanda Cantone after Angelina's death. Any help locating any records regarding them would be very much appreciated.

Thanks
Eric

Hi Eric, welcome!
the 1910 census:

1910 United States Federal Census
about Tonya Cantoni
Name: Tonya Cantoni
[Tony Cantoni]
Age in 1910: 48
Estimated birth year: abt 1862

Relation to Head of House: Head
Father's Birth Place: Italy
Mother's Birth Place: Italy
Spouse's name: Angelina
Home in 1910: New Orleans Ward 10, Orleans, Louisiana

Neighbors: View others on page
Household Members: Name Age
Tonya Cantoni 48
Angelina Cantoni 38

Josephine Cantoni 11

because the children was born in Louisiana, I believe that the family immigrated around 1890/1 and not in 1897...

in 1900 census the immigration year is the 1891:

1900 United States Federal Census

Charles Cantona 5 -b. oct 1894 LA

so Russ was Sari really, Rosario italian first name most probably... the children was: Russ( Rosario), Charles, Giuseppe, Josephine;

T,

How do you get the imageshack version of the census? I am trying to get the second pages, but all I can do is save it to my harddrive.

Thanks

When I find an image at Ancestry I have to save it to my hard drive and then post it to imageshack for you to see it.

Which image are you having trouble saving?

Charles name could be Khoury or Rhoury (I think the first)

Interesting that Josephina's name is spelled Khorey...:-)
