Can you please tell me the gist of the last lines of this document where it references Giuseppe? My great grandfather's name was Giuseppe Mazzarella. He was six years old at the time of this marriage between his mother and step-father.
Your help is appreciated!

Re: Please help with reading this marriage certificate
The couple are acknowledging that Giuseppe Gazella born to unknown parents, is their true child and that this marriage legitimizes his birth.

This is exactly what I was hoping it said! Thank you so much.
Re: Please help with reading this marriage certificate
Just to clarify...
Does it say that Giuseppe is of unknown parents (with an "s") or could it be that just his father is unknown?
Thanks again!

Giuseppe Gazzella was born in March 1891 to unknown parents (with an "s")...the record reads "ignoti genitori" which is the plural.

This is a mystery. Does this suggest that Giuseppe was an orphan?
I have viewed his birth extract on LDS microfilm. He is identified as Giuseppe Mazzarella. The birth date and location align with other records. There is not a space for parents on the birth extract, so parents are not named.
Giuseppe's mother is Emilia Dia Sebastiana Mure'. Family lore follows that Giuseppe's mother was married to a Mazzarella and that is where Giuseppe got his surname. Emilia's husband then died and she remarried Francesco Romano (marriage certificate attached) and Francesco adopted Giuseppe.
I would appreciate your thoughts.

I'd appreciate any insights about this.
