Belleno/Pellegrinelli

Post by nanakathy »

I'm trying to confirm a town name taken from Ellis Island records.
My great grandmother was born in Belleno, Italy in 1880.
I'm trying to locate the town to get birth records.
She had a brother Domenico.
Thank you
Kathy

Thank you Peter. Yes, that was the only town I could get to match that close. My family is from the Parma (Borgotaro, Belforte) area so that is probably the correct town.
How would I go about obtaining birth records?

The records for briths, marriages and deaths are in the town of origin Borgotaro Belforte in Emilia Romagna which can be reached by going to www.tuttitalia.it/emilia-romagna/90-borgo-val-di-taro

Belluno is an error for your records so go to the MUNICIPIO address in Borgo Val Di Toro to the office of the UFFICIO DI STATO CIVILE. Its free of charge by the way!!

Tessa's form letters are good to use!=Peter=

My husband's great grandmother was Marianna Pellegrinelli, and we've got extensive Pellegrinelli records on ancestry.com. His cousin Kathy Bull has even more info than we do. If you're willing to post your email I can send you an invitation to view the tree. The town you're looking for is probably Belforte. If you don't want to post your email you can try to search for your Pellegrinelli relative at ancestry.com, but I don't know how much you can see for free or without an invitation.

Just now by accident I came across this paper dated more then 10 years.
My name is Belleno Domenico and my grandfather had the same as my name and was born in Genoa, Italy in 1878, son of Paolo.
I hope that this mine can go all the way to Kathy and help you.
Belleno Domenico
