Ship Manifest
Ship Manifest
Does anyone know how to copy the "enlarged ship manifest"
so that it can be read easily? I have three manifest at Ellis
Island, and I would like to send copies to a family member.

Re: Ship Manifest
If you are using MSIE6, just hover over the picture, and a little pop up box appears. Click on the disk icon and save the picture as a .gif file.
Another way would be to use alt-PrtScrn to copy the screen to the clip board and then paste into a photo editor program, scroll right, alt prt-screen paste again scroll down, and alt-prt screen paste again until you have the whole picture in lots of portions. Then combine the bits together using the tools meant for stiching landscape photos together. A bit fiddly but worth $25 a go.
If you are still stuck, let me know where and I'll give more detailed instructions when I get home tonight. (I'm supposed to be working).

Re: Ship Manifest
This is exactly right, they can be saved in gif format this way. The saved image is quite large and the quality is not diminished. I print them on 11 X 14 Cardstock and they are beautiful.DeliBoy wrote:If you are using MSIE6, just hover over the picture, and a little pop up box appears. pretty good...but I still get stuck occasionally
The manifest is for an elderly relative...I want the manifest
to be easily read.....

Re: Ship Manifest
What hp program?
When you say "without losing the size", do you mean it does not fill a full sheet of normal paper, or that you want to split it over a number of sheets and stick them together to make it full original size?
When you say the image is faint, do you meen the black is a wishy washy grey, or are you talking about the pixelation?

Are you using a Hewlett Packard program? What hp program?
Re: Ship Manifest
I am using a hewlett packard program....which is not nearly as good as
my previous compaq program.
I would like to retain the original full size........
and the writing appears very faded..................

Re: Ship Manifest
I just printed the original manifest from an Ellis Island image. To do so, hold the control key and the print key at the same time. This will bring up your print options and use landscape instead of portrait to get the whole manifest.
