Italian passports from early 20th c. (historical question)

Post by timo »

What was the procedure for obtaining a passport in a small town in Sicily in the early part of the 20th c? Did the requestor bring a baptismal or birth certificate to a local office? For the passport of a married woman with children, can the stated Place of Birth for the children be assumed to be accurate, based on some paper evidence?
