Thank you so much! I'm working on learning to decipher the handwriting, but it's going pretty slow. I'm hoping that having these translations will help me translate the rest.
Thanks again!!!

The occupation is "borgese" which I would translate to bourgeois, middle-classTessa78 wrote:Record dated 29 October 1883 at 9 AM at the town hall in Caccamo.envirogal wrote: birth record for Consiglia Tuso:

Re: help translating birth and marriage records from Caccamo
Thanks for the help! A couple of questions about Carmela's birth record (that apply to other records as well):
"his wife living with him" - I can't read all of the italian - is it sua moglie esso lui ???amente?
At the bottom, the handwritten part that begins with Letto, is that some standard language for all birth records, or is it something specific to this record?
Thanks again!

Re: help translating birth and marriage records from Caccamo
This is pretty standard language which states that the official read the present act (Letto il presente atto...) to the participants. At the bottom, the handwritten part that begins with Letto, is that some standard language for all birth records, or is it something specific to this record?
The language will then state that the all signed below with him, or just the witnesses, or one witness, etc., and not the "others" because they were illiterate...
