Raffaelli/Biagi Families from Collodi and/or Lucca

Post by Raffaelli1972 »

Looking for any information on my father's side of the family.

Paulino Raffaelli married to Auremia Picchiotti Raffaelli
Germano Biagi (wife died giving birth to Julia Biagi)

They all came to the United states in the early 1900s from Collodi/Lucca. They settled in Chicago (which is where my father was born).

My grandfather's name was Edward G. Raffaelli. He had a brother, Milo.

I did a family tree on Ancestry.com over the summer, so I have some information. Just looking for more information or other people I may be related to. THanks!

Sorry if there are some duplications :-(

I checked Ancestry for Paolino Raffaelli and didn't see actual source records linked.
Later I found them linked to Auremia Picchiotti and family...

EARLIER trip by Alfonso Picchiotti - May 1900

Traveling with wife, Agata, and daughters Eufemia, Concetta and Aurelia.

Going to Chicago, Ill
Last residence Pariana, (Lucca, Italy)

http://www.ellisisland.org/EIFile/popup ... &line=0016

From a travel site about Pariana...
Pariana, a typical working hilltop Tuscan village with a maze of lovely narrow stone paved streets and clear Tuscan spring water running from the drinking fountain in the square and with a local population of approx 250, is reached by a road winding up from the valley floor at Collodi, the birthplace of Pinocchio, through the chestnut woods and olive groves. The hilltop setting, often with its light breeze, gives welcome relief from the stifling heat built up on the plain below.

Germano Biagi (wife died giving birth to Julia Biagi)
Is Iola, Julia?

Then she would have been last child with Ida... born after 1910?

Do we have the 1920 Census?

T.

EDIT: Found 1920 Census and "Yolie" is 16...so born in 1904 ---Her immigration year is listed as 1911.
Julia is on 1920 census...age 6...Ida died in 1914.
