Ihave previously written to the church in Cicagna, Genoa for info concerning my great-grandmother, Nicoletta Guainazzi. It has been 3 months (I included money), but have not heard anything. She married my
great-grandfather, Francesco Solari (From San Colombo Certenoli, Genoa)
in 1879 in Philadelphia, PA.
I believe Nicoletta was born in 1862, according to the census reports.
Francesco was born in 1858.
I have found nothing in immigration.
All my info comes from my grandmother's baptismal record in Phila.,PA.
Any help would be most appreciated. I do not know where to go from here.
Thank you, Carol

Re: great grandparents in Genoa
Carol,
civil registrations began in Italy since 1866 more or less, so if Nicoletta was born on 1862 you have to ask for her baptism act to the church of Cicagna...
However, Ancestry.com has on line the civil registrations for the Comune of Cicagna and the birth act registrations began on 1866...
http://search.ancestry.com/search/db.aspx?dbid=1895
Francesco Solari's place of origin was San Colombano Certenoli, Ancestry.com has the civil registrations for this place too, but the birth act began there on 1867...

Re: great grandparents in Genoa
Thank you Laura.
As I said, I tried writing to the church in Cicagna, but have not received
a reply after 3 months. I guess I will try again.
Regards, Carol
