Rossie or Rossi

My husband's great grandfather is Louis Rossie. I have found that he was born in Como, Lombardia, Italy in 1857. The US Census records show that he arrived in America in 1885. I found another search that said 1888. I can't find him on any arrival records. He lived in Texas in the 1910 census thru the time of his death in 1937. His parents were born in Italy as well and I have no idea who they are or where they were from. I would love it if someone can help me in any way.

Yes the L. Emilius and Josephine are the ones in question. I can get Josephine back further but not Louis Emilius.

Rossi is the spelling from Como, Lombardia.

I saw that Louis's surname was Rossi on the first US Census and on the second one it was Rossie. That part isn't my issue because I have searched under both. There are several Rossi's on many manifests but none of which have the arrival year which was put on each of his census sheets. I don't know if he migrated with any family. I can't find him beyond those census.

I was doing some looking at the 1900 census and saw Louis was not on it could this be him. On this 1900 prison hospital census in California.

The only Rossi I see on that is Luigi and I have no idea who he is. I have ran across a couple of records for Luigi but I am positive it is Louis that I'm looking for. Thank you though.

Rossi is the most common lastname in Italy, it's spreaded all over Italy...

Luigi Emilio? Rossi was in the U.S. already on 1888 because he married Josephine in that year...

yes I know he married in 1888, he maybe immigrated just around 1885...

The birth information came from my mother in law who is Louis Rossi's grandaughter. Her father is his son Emil. Emil died in 1993 when my husband was 18 when Emil died and asked no questions. No one has really done any question asking until me. Therefore, no one has any info.
