birth act of g-g-grandmother

Post by bkworm10 »

Below are pages 1 and 2 of my g-g-grandmother's birth act - Maria Felicia Filippo, which is included in her processetti. I have her birth act from a later marriage (9 years later to my g-g-grandfather), but I'm hoping this one has more information on it, especially her maternal side and because it's quite long. I am having a hard time translating this, as the handwritten forms are nearly impossible for me. But I hope to get better at it eventually. At least I can figure out what the form is about - that's much better than last week when I had no clue!

Hi Annette...

This is an "estratto di nascita" (birth certificate) of Maria Felicia Filippo

# 169
7 December 1840 at 5 Pm before the official appeared Domenico Filippo, son of Francesco, 30, peasant farmer, residing in Casanuove, to declare that a girl baby was born to Rosa Lacovara, 27, residing as above, on
5 December of the above year at 11 PM

Looks like the second page states that she was baptized in the Church of San Nicola on the 7th of December...

Tess, What is Casanuove? Is that a street or a town? When I do a search on Casanuove, it doesn't come up as a town. I thought they were all from Accettura. San Nicola Church is in Accettura. Thanks, Annette

I just checked a map of Accettura and it looks like there is a street called "Vico Secondo Casalnuovo" --- So I'm guessing that the "Casanuove" on the birth act was a street (which may no longer exist with that exact name)
