Death Record Maiden Name

Post by jmirra3 »

I just received my gg grandfather's death certificate (NJ, USA) and am having a hard time making out the maiden name of his mother. This is not a translation, just wanted to see if anyone knew of a similar Italian surname.

TIA

A quick search has yielded two possible spellings for the surname:

CAPICCIOTTI

CAPISCIOTTI

You can search the Italian white pages for both possible spellings of the surname and the towns in which they currently appear

I read COPICIOTTI (one "C") but the surname does not exist and could be a misspelling of CAPICCIOTTI or CAPISCIOTTI (as Peg pointed out)
