Del Dosso family from Churrio, Italy

I am researching my family and have come here for help. My great-great-great grandfather came to the US from Italy in the late 1800's from a place listed as Churrio, Italy. I can not find this place anywhere. Does anyone know of a Churrio, Italy? Or of a DelDosso family near there? any help would be greatly appreciated!

Were you able to get anywhere searching for Chiuro? This is a long shot and you most likely already searched under this provence but I also have family history of the Del Dosso name under the information I have Chiuro is in the provence of Di Sundria. ??

I did have some success with the Lombardi region. We think, that is the correct area. Still working on it though. We have also struggled to find any information on ship manifests from that time. There were no Del Dosso's listed from 1875-1885 that we could find. Did you go in that direction?

Where is the US did your ancestor settle? That may be a clue to what port or border crossing he used to enter the US...

I don't have the first name, or birthdate, of your relative, but I did find this manifest which may be of interest...

They ended up settling in Colorado between 1875 and 1885. His name was Pietro Del Dosso (Pete Del Dosso) and was married to Marianna Reganzani...Thanks for the manifest, it was great to look at! I appreciate all of your help!

If you ever find that you can narrow down the date of immigration (at least to a 5 year span) then you may want to search the Louisiana arrival lists at familysearch.org
