Need some help...

I am looking for Census records for CARMELO SCHILLACI, and I guess because the last name can be hard to say/understand, I am stuck!

Carmelo was born 1867, came over in 1903 from Palermo with wife Mary/Carmela, and son Francesco Paolo/Frank.

In 1904, Carmelo's two sons Paolo/Paul and Nicolo/Nicholas came over. The 1904 Ellis Island record says they were traveling to father Carmelo on Mulberrry Street in New York.

I found the 1910 Census for Carmelo in Garfield, NJ
(Lanza Avenue)...that's where they eventually settled. I cannot, however, find any more records of them.

Carmelo was a Bricklayer/Plasterer and his sons Paul and Nick worked at the Worsted Mill.

Hi Paul! Thanks very much! I am wondering if Carmelo Schillaci is living in the same building with his sons in 1930...The 1930 Census you posted has both brothers = Paul & Nick living at the same address...I wonder if their father/mother are still alive and living nearby too!

Hi Julia,

I looked through the whole 4th Ward, but only looked for the family on Lanza Ave. and could not find Carmelo.
I guess it is possible they could be living on another street, or Lanza Ave is included in another Ward.
I will look somemore,

Thanks! Don't worry if you don't find it....If that 1920 Census is Carmelo, then his younger kids should be around in the 1930 Census somewhere...
