Italian Parish Records 1700-1800

Post by troycjaco »

Salve a tutt,

I was wondering if anyone could help me. How can I obtain Italian parish records between 1700-1800?

I have been using the Church of the Latter Day Saints microfilm.

I understand that durning this time period, my family lived in Loseto, Bari under the kingdom of sicily/ napule. Was the Roman Catholic Church keeping records at this time?

Thank you, and greaty appreciate any help

most have not been copied, usually due to the catholic church or local priest reluctance. many of the parish records actually date to the mid/late 1500's. access is usually only available through an italian researcher familiar with the area and local church officials.
