The Family History Center has a free software that you can download into your computer and keep all your information in it. It is called a PAF or Personal Ancestral File. You would want to download the 5.1.5 version.

http://www.ldscatalog.com/webapp/wcs/st ... stepback=1

it's Item #50128999

This software makes Pedigree Charts, Family Group Sheets and much more and its free.

If the link above doesn't work, try this link and it's on the lfet hand side of the screen.

Have a good one.

Thankyou both for your help. I never realised how long it takes to write it all out! 8O But it'll be worth it in the end. :D
Thanks

You're welcome. The nice thing about the PAF program is that you can type it all in and then print reports out. :) Good luck!

There are several good and reasonably priced genealogy programs available, along with some free ones. I highly recommend finding one you like and using it. As you add information you can just re-print a chart. It gets hard to keep it all up to date using paper and pencil.

Hi Wldspirit,

I'm happy to help. The PAF program from LDS is free! Plus it does have a lot of features to it. We have one all printed out and displayed in our Family History Center.

A lot of people don't realize what the Family History Center has to offer. There is no admission fee if you go there to do research. They have access to Ancestry.com for free, but you pay for the copies you print. You can order microfilm and view it there. Their website has the SSDI, the 1880 Federal Census indexed, and so much more. Just to www.familysearch.org and poke around on the site.

If you have problems downloading the software or have questions, just ask.
