Can you help me find my Great Grandmother?

Post by JesB »

my great great grandmother came to the US from Italy in the 1900's. She is currently deceased. I am told that she may have come from sicily but I am not so sure. Here is some information about her:

Maiden Name: Antoinette Maximilian (spelling may be wrong)
Married Name: Antoinette Tessitori
Husband: Paul Tessitori
Place lived: The Catskills, NY
Children: Wanda L. Hall, Donald Tessitori, Elaine Tessitori, and Paul Tessitori (spelling may be wrong)
Death: Around the 1980's

If anyone could help me I would be very greatful! Thanks.

Great manifest, Valarie! :-D

Link to Frignano, listed as Antonetta Massimilla's place of birth on manifest...

Frignano is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Caserta in the Italian region Campania, located about 20 km northwest of Naples and about 15 km southwest of Caserta. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 8,570 and an area of 9.9 km²

I am so glad that I found this website! I just googled my great grandfather's name Paul Hugo Tessitori and this came up. I am Antoinette and Paul's great-granddaughter. I am his daughter Elaine's (her real name was Ileana)granddaughter. My father has an entire family tree of our relatives back in Italy and my father and I have been trying to find "grand-daddy paul's" (as my dad called him) house in Lake Mahopac, NY. If you know where there residence was there I would love the help. Otherwise I'd love to help you out with finding the family in Italy. I've been told there is actually a town in Italy called Tessitore.

Oh my gosh. The moment I read this I got so excited! My Great Grandmother was Wanda, grandmother Laura, mother Audra. Ileana would be my great aunt. I'm not sure where Paul used to live but my grandfather told me he was a Dress Designer and owned a couple of companies in NYC. I've found out a little more about Antoinette since this post, about her siblings; it's really hard to figure this stuff out!

Ileana315, I do not know if this will help you but on fultonhistory.com I searched for "Paul Tessitori" and found a letter to the editor he had written about property he owned
called the former Wilson home overlooking Lake Mahopac,in the town of Carmel NY
