TRAVE
The "Trave" was built by Fairfield & Co, Glasgow in 1886 for Norddeutscher Lloyd [ North German Lloyd]. She was a 4969 gross ton vessel, length 438ft x beam 48.1ft, two funnels, four masts, single screw and a speed of 17 knots. There was accommodation for 150-1st, 90-2nd and 1,000-3rd class passengers. Launched on 18/2/1886, she sailed from Bremen on her maiden voyage to New York on 5/6/1886. In 1896/7 she was refitted and two of her masts removed and on 29/1/1901 she left Bremen on her last voyage to New York. She was them transferred to the Genoa - Naples - New York run on 20/3/1901 and commenced her last voyage on 23/4/1903. Between 1903-1906 she was laid up and on 11/3/1906 resumed the Bremen - New York service. According to the above, the ship did NOT sail from Bremen to New York after 29 January 1901...
So as suanj has stated, it is probably a transcription error at the ellis island site.

The manifests that are listed as BREMEN may actually be NAPLES departure...

ma sicuramente, anche la logica lo dice: cosa dovevano andare a fare fino a Bremen quando potevano tranquillamente partire dall'Italiacon una delle tante navi... sai le trascrizioni sono fatte da volontari e gli errori scappano spesso, per questo quando un dato non ci quadra, per logica, controlliamo su altri siti..ciao,

Ho guardato il manifesto ma nella parte di sopra è scritto soltanto " S.S. Trave ".
Il nome è TUFANO Francesco di Saviano.

Il manifesto dei passeggeri è la pagina (frame) 572 ma volevo sapere quali sono le pagine in relazione con frame 572, la precedente pagina 571 ? o le seguenti pagine 573, 574 ?


Faccio questa domanda perché è scritto : " consul of the United Stades at Naples " e dunque ciò conferma che la nave era partita del porto di Napoli.

On page 573 and 574 it states that the surgeon examined the passengers on the "foregoing list or manifest" meaning the list that appears before pages 573 and 574. However, there are letters stamped on these pages (J, I, H, etc.) that seem to go in reverse order...
And yes, it has the stamp of "United States Consulate at Naples"

La lista in questione (numeri da 1 a 30) tre nomi sono sbarrati ci sono dunque 27 passeggeri.
La pagina che corrisponde è 571...mi sbaglio nel mio ragionamento ?
Che cosa significa le pagine con le lettere da Z a A e perché in ordine alfabetico inverso ?
pagina 518=Z (pagina 571=I) pagina 595=A

d'accordo, perché i fogli sono in ordine inverso ...
Ma non capisco il signifcato delle lettere

E ho trovato gli errori su questi manifesti.
Tuttavia, la maggior parte delle informazioni è stata presa dal passaporto.
Se avete un commissario di bordo tedesco cercando di leggere l'italiano ci saranno errori.
Sono sicuro di esso.
