Searching for my sister -Maria Rubelli

Post by gxk459 »

I wanted everyone to know -since I have posted several times- my brother was in Naples this past month- he went to the civil records office and found out there is a record of our sister's birth and she was adopted but records are sealed for 70 years and we can write to the mayor and try to see if he can help or try the television show in Italy that helps people find lost relatives- they told him it was a privacy issue.

Write a letter saying you are a relative and asking for an 'estratto di nascita' using her name and birthdate. Be sure to include a photocopy of your passport and an addressed envelope.
It will not give you her parents names but it may have a notation of her marriage in the margin that will allow you to trace her.
Even a Stato di Famiglia might give you her adotptive parents names.
Good luck.
