Valenti, Stracuzzi

Post by stracuzzi »

Just starting out. Looking for info on how to track cities , family members etc.

My grandfather Paul Valenti, and grandmother Maria Stracuzzi came over and lived in Barnsboro PA.

Any help would be great.

Thanks.

Mark, Welcome to the Forum!
We'll all be happy to see what we can do to help.
Do you have approx birth dates and children's names?
It may help if we could place your family on a census.

Which last name . I am pretty sure that is how it is spelled. Though some relatives spell Valenty with a "Y"

I am back after a hiatus.... I have tried over and over on the info posted. Since I know the city my grandparents were born in. Which I verified through a cousin. I can not find a search engine to to help me find residents of those cities. Is there an overseas genealogy that I can write to help me search. Thanks

This is a letter written to my grandmother from her sister.

Can anybody help me with the translation . As per say would this be a house address on a street.

I looked up her name in the white pages. There are a couple of people with the same name in Santa lucia.

I was going to write a letter to this address or the one listed in the white pages,

Would this be a good idea or should I have some one do some homework on the people .

Also Is Messina a city or province ?

Donata via
Miabro 56
98046
Santa Lucia Del Mela.

Thanks Mark

Messina is a city as well as a province.
In this case, the town is Santa Lucia del Mela, province of Messina.
In addresses, you should write Santa Lucia del Mela (ME).
As to the matter of writing, or getting more info before...well, it depends on what you would like to tell them. But, if you write, remember that those people may be aged, or suspicious, or ashamed as they can not write well. Also, not all Italians are so interested in their genealogy as Americans are. That's to say, you can't be sure you will get an answer.

Thank you Giuseppe,

I will take that under advisement. If I get something back great if not I will try another angle.
I am not sure of there record keeping. Do you know of a web site that I can access, that can give me birth records, death records , or even marriage records. I would think some organizations would keep track in the city or province.

Thanks
