I'll be sending some follow up documents to the NYC Consulate on Monday to the attention of Emilio DiFrancesco. Does anyone have an e-mail address for him?
My translator suggested I email him to ensure the documents were received, but she had no address.
email addresses for NYC Consulate
Re: email addresses for NYC Consulate
NY's email convention is firstname.lastname@esteri.it
Re: email addresses for NYC Consulate
Ok, it has been a month since we mailed the "last" documents to NYC Consulate.
They were sent via Fed Ex and we have confirmed receipt of the package.
Should we have heard something by now or is it time to worry??

Re: email addresses for NYC Consulate
One month is not a long time at the NYC Consulate.
I submitted a couple of docs at the beginning of October 2011 - I personally dropped them off, which meant pushing the envelope through a cut out in a wall which was the inbox. and I finally heard from the Consulate in March 2012.
It is according to where you sit in the pile to be processed and how many people are working on the pile.
Remember the Consulate is a little piece of Italy and in Italy government agencies do not work with any speed in mind.
Sit back, have a glass of wine and enjoy the view. They will get back to you.

Re: email addresses for NYC Consulate
Still no word.
What "should" be happening?
Are the documents reviewed & approved in NYC then sent for recording in Italy?
Or should they be telling us that our citizenship applications have been approved, then send the documents to Italy for recording?
Not sure how fast things happen in Calabria during the summer!
I'm overly concerned because after our first appointment, the file wasnt looked at until our 2nd appointment over a year later.
