family research

Post by kscanza »

HI, I am new to this site and am looking for help/advice with my family tree. I know my great grandmother Mariantonia Casamassima was born on July 23, 1880 in Toritto, Bari Italy. Her parent's names were Nicola Casamassima and Grazia Biase. I do not know how to find records or search for more family information in this location?? Does anyone know how to help me??

Hi,
you can try in Toritto civil records by LDS microfilms:

Registri dello stato civile, Toritto (Bari), 1809-1900

authors: Toritto (Bari). Ufficio dello stato civile
format: Manuscript/Manuscript on Film
language: Italian
publication: Salt Lake City, Utah : Filmati dalla Genealogical Society of Utah, 1989-1990
physical: in 18 bobine di microfilm ; 16 mm.

Births, marriages, banns, marriage documents, deaths, miscellaneous documents, citizenship records. The marriage memorandum contain the same type of information as the marriage banns. Includes death notices added to birth records. The supplemental records for 1866-1896 are all filmed together under: Bari (Provincia). Ufficio dello stato civile. The record no. (CCF no.) is 732518.
