Hello Everyone!
I found the birth record of my great-great grandfather, Ilarione Introna. From what I could read, the birth took place on July 6, 1828 on Strada Pizza #8. Father: Tomaso of the late Ilarione and Della Stapea ?? (I know that is wrong). Mother: Maria Spadvecchia daughter of Sergio?

I am learning to translate, but there are some things I just don't understand. Please correct me and add anything else important. Are ages of the parents listed?
Thank you all again for all your assistance. All of a sudden, I am starting to understand and am able to read a little of the Italian language. I wish I learned more when I studied Italian in high school.

Ilarione Introna Birth Record
It is hoped that the research I am doing helps to discover, preserve and celebrate my family history.

A few things. The birth took place on the 4th and the baptism (right column) took place on the 6th. After the father's name it says "marito della stessa." This means he was the husband of the same woman to whom the child was born meaning Maria Spadavecchia, who was the daughter of Sergio (Spadavecchia).

Re: Ilarione Introna Birth Record
Thank you Erudita - I made the corrections in my tree. About the baptism, does it say what church? Who the godparents were? I now found a birth record of his brother, Corrado.

Does this record mention the ages of the parents?

Re: Ilarione Introna Birth Record
The parish in Molfetta was San Corrado. Technically the right column is not the church baptism record. It is part of the civil record. The parish priest had been sent a copy of the record to record the info about the baptism on it and then sent it back to the town official once he did to be preserved with the state civil records. So there are no godparents mentioned on this record, as there would be on a church baptism record. Tommaso was 55 and Maria was 36. By the way, the address you listed above was the address of the midwife. The couple lived at #10 Strada San Pietro (not sure of the word after Pietro). Here is a link to a street map of the townItalianbellaSA wrote:Thank you Erudita - I made the corrections in my tree. About the baptism, does it say what church? Who the godparents were?
