Pellegrini/Lombardini

Post by pj01cj02 »

Looking for any connection of Luigi Pellegrini of PA to the Lombardini family. Pia Lombardini went to her uncle's home in PA when coming to USA according to Ellis Island site. Have 2 Lombardini children born in PA but showing up as children of Gervasio/Joseph Lombardini of Houghton, MI. This is Pia's brother. There are Pellegrini family in the Houghton area of Michigan. Would love to know the connection. Have Pia married to Enrico Guili in Houghton. Pia killed unknown date prior to 1920 in Michigan. Any help appreciated to my new puzzle.

Maybe she did stay in PA for just a few months...(as she arrived in May 1899) who knows..

I may have found what could be Luigi Pellegrini's first boat record coming from the San Margherita (Lucca) area... also a plasterer...already married...

http://ellisisland.org/search/shipManif ... 4474160570
I am now curious to find out who his wife Ida was... you never know, Ida could have been Pia's blood relative...

Who was the boarder in Luigi's census record... Pedro (Pietro) Pollini (Paolini??) ..

About Enrico Giuli... the 2 manifests (of 1901 and 1912) linked earlier on... your thoughts on those?? Your opinion would help.... if you need help in reading the manifests please advise... not always easy at times...

The 1912 manifest has him married to Giuseppina - manifest also states "Cir- Ct", Houghton Michigan August 8, 1904... maybe he became a US citizen at that time... what do you make of this??

There's lots that can be figured out... just really need your opinion :!:

Hi Maria, just woke up so now maybe I can think after my 3 days of 12 hr shifts. Maybe Pia died before 1910. I would think that the Aug 8, 1904 might be that he became a citizen. I will check that out today. Giuseppina must be a second wife. Unless, Pia is short for Giuseppina. I know she died before Leandro/Andrew moved to the Wayne Co area. He shows up on the 1920 census there. Going to check out Enrico's info will get back with you on what I find.

about the border. Wondering if that is related to Marianna Paolinelli. Leandro's mother.

Hi Debbie,
Wondering if that is related to Marianna Paolinelli
That's exactly what I thought too...
Unless, Pia is short for Giuseppina
Anyone's thought on this??

A relative of mine was called Giuseppina and was just called "Pi"...

According to this site here... Pia is just Pia....

http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Poin ... ename.html

Wished I had access the the Historical Newspapers from the Ancestry.com site... I did at one time ... but never used it much... When I did a general search for Pia (first name only) this newspaper with 71 results showed up...

Grand Traverse Herald (Traverse City, Michigan)

If someone can look up Pia Giuli it may shed some light... anyone?? :P

Hi :!:

Someone who is forum shy sent me this document and it does look very interesting... Thank you for sending this over.

Name: Bera Lombardo

Home in 1900: Osceola, Houghton, Michigan Age: 21 Estimated birth year: 1879 Birthplace: Italy Race: White Relationship to head-of-house: Servant
Occupation: Immigration year: 1899

http://img140.imageshack.us/img140/1139/1900pia3eu.gif

The age is right on, the immigration year is right on.... the last name - very close.... but look what they did to the given name :!:

Her birthdate would be February 1879.

The numerical markings over her given name and "Natale's" name below just make this a hard read.

Here is an enlarged view of her name...

Your thoughts... only when you've caught up on some sleep... sorry, I forgot about those long hours.. 8O

Take care... mfjp

ty for the sender of this info to you. Very interesting and most possible it is Pia. I am having a hard time reading the name. I am not sure that I am reading it as Bera. But you are right Maria, everything fits. I will look into this further. Very interesting. :D
