Looking for Joseph (Giuseppi) Laneri

Post by ScottLaneri »

Hello. I have been searching for more information on my great-great-great grandfather Giuseppi for months now and haven't made any major progress. The only information I have is that his son is Pietro (Pera) Laneri, born in 1861, in Coli, Piacenza, Italy.

I'm guessing that Giuseppi was also born in that area, but I can't find any information on it. Does anyone have any advice on where I can find more information? Or does anyone have more information?

Hi
I found in Piacenza archive the miltary record abt:

Luigi Antonio Laneri born in Coli on 18 Mar 1839 , farmer, son of Pietro Laneri and Giovanna Ballarini;

maybe the father of your Giuseppe was Pietro also, because his son was named Pietro second italian tradition... and in this case Luigi Antonio could be a brother of Giuseppe...
you can try therecords in the Coli Civil records by LDS microfilms:
Registri dello stato civile di Coli (Piacenza), 1806-1929
Births, marriages, banns, deaths, ten-year indexes, supplemental records

That's very helpful, thank you suanj. May I ask how you accessed the military records? From what I understand, those records have a lot of information. Do you think I could search for Pietro Laneri and possibly find information on his parents? Hmmm.

the database in Piacenza archive is no complete.. for now are just the military records of men born between 1842 to 1850.. and also that they fought for the Italy union... as Luigi Antonio Laneri ...

so the best way is to search in Coli civil records by LDS..

I don't suppose you are linked with ballarini family. Francesco Giuseppe was my grandfather from Lucca.
