Birth records from Rome

Post by gliesian66 »

Hi, I'm trying to find this Roman birth record so I can establish who Federico's parents are:

Federico Perrella
Birth 1821 in Rome, Roma, Lazio, Italy
Death 1904 in Italy

Where can I find this record?

Thank you so much,
Robert

It would be easier to find his parents on his death record. Do you know where he died in Italy?

I do not know where he died.

This is Federico Perrella on Ancestry.com: http://trees.ancestry.com/tree/50192895 ... 0337739819

That link goes to a blank page for me (http://www.anagrafebbcc.chiesacattolica ... aScheda.do).

Is there another way to find his birth certificate in Rome?

No. There are no birth certificates for Rome in that time period, you would need to search Parish/Church records for a baptism.

Depending on the town, records are kept at the Churches themselves, the Parish Church, or the archive of the diocese: http://www.anagrafebbcc.chiesacattolica.it
TIP: When asking for records from Italy, do NOT ask for an "estratto." ALWAYS ask for a "copia integrale." A photocopy of the original Act will contain more information

If he died in Rome you could always check the cemetery records.
