Sorry - Maria was Samuel's first wife - she died at the age of 23/24 - Samuel then returned to Italy and there married his cousin Catherine Sinapoli who wanted to raise his five young children - they had two more of their own.

29 October 1918, Rochester, Monroe, New York, United States What is this? This is the date of death of Maria

There's another Salvatore Sinopoli born in Mirabella in 1879 so I'd be careful about assuming the one in 1880 is him: https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/T ... ,124608401

And another in 1881: https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/T ... ,124613701

And perhaps more importantly, there's a Santi Sinopoli born in 1882 (Santi seems closer to Santo than Salvatore): https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/T ... ,124613701

It doesn't look like you know his parents names? Do you have his marriage records? Because those should hopefully have his parents names so you can confirm which birth record is his. So before you choose any of these as his birth record, find his marriage records first if you haven't already. If you don't know where in Italy he married, I would start in Mirabella and also try Naples since it looks like that's where his first wife was born. His second marriage must have occurred after the death of his first wife in 1918 so I would start by looking through this collection for his second marriage: https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/T ... ,122797101

Here's his marriage to his second wife:

So it looks like Santi's father was Giuseppe Sinopoli and his mother was Caterina Montisteri and that matches the birth record for Santi Sinopoli in 1882: https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/T ... ,124613701

Nice work Robin!! I think it was his first marriage it says Santi Sinopoli was celibe on the marriage act
Heres are two family certificates from Matrimoni, allegati 1920 with birth dates and names of the families at the time of the wedding with a lot of good info

Thanks Marty, I think I'm getting the hang of reading the birth/marriage records. Although, I had no idea what the allegati/attachments included - oh dear, more records for me to search, lol.

If you look through that allegati it also contains birth records of the bride and groom any death records of former spouses and death records of parents deceased before the marriage plus the marriage publication a gold mine of info.........
