Anyone has 1930Census? Please check this out for me...

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Anyone has 1930Census? Please check this out for me...

Post by bull1982 »

Hi, this is Francesco from Italy, my grandaunts emigrated to the US in the early 900ies. They were Pietro, Andrea and Giuseppe Masiero. Giuseppe now lies in Italy and had no sons abroad. I downloaded two of Giuseppe's Ship manifest on EllisIsland.org (early twenties...he left for last). Final destination was Lee, Mass. Found nothing about Andrea and Pietro. Andrea wrote lots of letters back to his sister. All writings come from Dover Plains, NY. Think that Andrea became American Citizen during the 30's. I don't know nothing about Pietro.
Were did they lived? Dover Plains or Lee or elsewhere? Had sons?
Hope someone could give me some hints
Be Well

That's a big hit! I'm getting excited about this research. Months and months e-mailing local libraries, parrishes and Masieros having very low results...and here am I!...With Pietro's World War I Draft Record within 2 sec, that's simply WOOOH!
Well, serving in World War I means that he probably went abroad in the 800ies, may you also check this out ?
If you colud show me more about their sons that wolud be amazing.
Know I am demanding a lot but take all the time u need.
If could help:my grandma says that also a son of Andrea Masiero served the US in the World World II but she can't remember his name.
Thanks!!!!

A little prob:Pietro's link shows me Giuseppe Masiero's travel Ship manifest. how can I fix it?

The "Andrea" on the other manifest is a wrong Andrea. Too much older.

Giuseppe Masiero you found is the right person. I've never known he also served in the Army. That's amazing. As far as I can read he also volounteer as a fireman. That is somenthing I once read on his manifest.
Great!
I' sorry, I've never heard nothing about Antonio...think that he's not relative to me.

OK check Pietro's manifest above... link should be correct...

It would help if we had year of birth for the rest of the brothers!

Ti ringrazio veramente tanto.

All that comes from you helps! Year of birth would be great!
Can you tell me something (using the Census) about Andrea's period in Dover Plains,NY? All the hints I got from Manifests and Draft Record bring my attention to Lee,Mass...what was he doing in Dover?
White Pages shows me there are some Masieros in both Lee and Dover, may the Census show you if they really are sons of Andrew or Pietro.
PS:Trissino(the town the left for America) is full of Masieros. They probably had friends or cousins abroad and they may have reached them.

Andrea's mother is Elisabetta.. please confirm?

I am looking for a census record. I am hoping that he named a daughter after her...

Please confirm the name of Andrea's father... that would help too.

We keeping you busy today?
