Baptism Translation Request

Post by rp76226 »

The following link yields a two page spread of church records:

Please translate the second record down on the left page (301). It should be the baptism of Gaetano Puma.

Here is what I read... :-)

On 12 November 1820 the priest, Nicola Cacciatore, baptized a child born to Salvatore di Puma and Maria Rosa Carlino, married couple; and the child was given the name Gaetano. Godparents were Carlo Puma and Anna, his wife.

The children was born the previous day, on the 11th.

What's the connection with the Gaetano Puma born in Racalmuto on 24 Jan 1835?

I have found no connection between the two. If you were looking at my Racalmuto "research" Tree on Ancestry.com, the surnames that are completely capitalized (for example PUMA, are related to me). Those that are not completely capitalized (Puma) are from Racalmuto, but no relationship to me has been yet found. I sent you an invitation to my true family Tree - Puma Tree Most Curent, but you haven't accepted it. That has over 36,000 people versus 2,466 for my Racalmuto Tree.

I didn't receive your invitation. This happens all the time when I send invitations to other people; now I'm other the other end.

A hint popped up when I was filling in this baptismal info for Gaetano Puma in my tree. The hint was for the birth of a different Gaetano Puma with father Salvadore Puma in Racalmuto in 1835.
