This is the birth record for Emilio Catalucci. I'm hoping someone can help me read some of the names.
Emilio's father is Francesco Catalucci does it also list Francesco's fathers name?
(fu Francesco Catalucci fu ??????????????????)
Does it say the address of the house?
(e nella casa ?????????????????????????????)

Re: Help with birth record
Francesco's father's name is either Gioacchino or Giovacchino.
Re the address, I am reading Spiazzo Marcolini, No 4 but I am not totally sure that this is the address. Spiazzo means "open space"? Someone else might be able to explain this. I'm not sure I've seen this before.

Spiazzo is a synonym of Piazza
Re: Help with birth record
Thank you Angela & Liviomoreno. Piazza Marcolini makes sense it is right down the street from where my grandfather was born.

Thank you, Livio. I had a feeling that might be the case but wasn't 100% sure. Happy New Year to you and your family.liviomoreno wrote:Spiazzo is a synonym of Piazza

Re: Help with birth record
Can someone please read Emilio's birth date? His grave stone reads 1873 but the record looks like 1882 to me. His marriage record says he was 30 in 1900.

I'm also reading 1882. The gravestone must be incorrect.

Re: Help with birth record
I couldn't get a very clear image earlier because I kept getting pop ups from flickr when I tred to zoom in, hiding the record. Now that I have had another look I see that it reads 1872 not 1882. (I thought it was a bit odd to have a ten year difference and wondered whether they were two different people.) Because of the popups I can't really tell whether this image is a transcription or a photocopy. If it is a transcription then it could be that the clerk has made an error transcribing?

Re: Help with birth record
Definitely 1872. Check the handwriting of "milleottocentosettantadue" and "mese di maggio"!

Absolutely! The other confirmation of the year is that in 1872:liviomoreno wrote:Definitely 1872. Check the handwriting of "milleottocentosettantadue" and "mese di maggio"!
22 May was a Wednesday ("Mercoledi" as stated in record)
18 May (date of birth) was a Saturday ("Sabato" as stated in record)
