Re: How do you pronounce the surname CHIRILLO?
Thanks for the replies. Chirillo was my grandmother's maiden name. My mother thought it was pronounced Sha-rill-Oh. But, then I heard Kirillo and Chee-rillo so I wasn't sure.
Does anyone know the meaning of the name? I can't find anything on it.

My, such an old thread!
You may want to try here: http://www.oddcast.com/home/demos/tts/tts_example.php
and try "Birillo" here: http://www.vocabolaudio.com/it/birillo (replace the first syllable with "key")

Re: How do you pronounce the surname CHIRILLO?
It bears pointing out that speakers of American English pronounce the letter "i" in most cases as they would when referring to themselves with the pronoun, I. So, "ki" looks like ki in kite, that thing that children fly on a breezy day.jamiecapaldi wrote:Chirillo is found;

In Italian, the letter "i" is usually pronounced as the English long "e": key, cheat, cheese, me, and so on.
