I have an old document and ran it through a translation site. I got enough words translated to know what it is stating and assume it is an Italian Birth Certificate. It states:
COMUNE Di Salaparuta
Officio Dello Stato Civile
II sottoscritto Ufficiale certifica
Che Mandina Gaetano
figlio di Paolo
e di Francesca Liguore
é nato nel Comune di Salaparuta
il giorno Undir Mayo Milliellicento Nanlanove
Tanto risulta da i Rigistir degr atti d'nasirta dell'omno suddett Millecttunto Nantanove al Numero d'ordne 32 p.p.
Si rilascia in carta libera per un d'beneficenza
I'm sure I have many of the words misspelled as it is hard to read, but if someone can tell me what they think they should be, I'd much appreciate it! And is my assumption right that it is a birth certificate?
Thanks!

Re: Italian Document translation
Until it is translated by someone, you will find this much more useful than the translation sites, which really make a mess of things........

Thanks to both of you for the response - and yes, some translator programs really do make a mess of things, especially when you can't make out the spelling of the word correctly!

Hi There,
Can I ask if the line I put in BOLD below looks like
il giorno undici maggio mille ottocento novanta nove
This means: of day 11 May 1899
OR
il giorno undici maggio mille ottocento ottanta nove
This means: of day 11 May 1889
The document states:
COMUNE Di Salaparuta
Town of Salaparuta
Officio Dello Stato Civile
Official of Vital Records
II sottoscritto Ufficiale certifica
The Herewritten Official Certificate
Che Mandina Gaetano
Of Madina Gaetano
figlio di Paolo e di Francesca Liguore
son of Paolo (Mandina) and Francesca Liguore
é nato nel Comune di Salaparuta
and born in the Town of Salaparuta
il giorno Undir Mayo Milliellicento Nanlanove**see above***
of day eleven May one thousand eight hundred ninety-nine (May 11, 1899)
Tanto risulta da i Rigistir degr atti d'nasirta dell'omno suddett Millecttunto ilNantanove al Numero d'ordne 32 p.p.
From the results of the Acts of Birth Registry of the same year 1899 of the Number of Order 32
I hope this answers your question, however, I would like to know if looked like 1889 or 1899.
