Duca Raimondo di Arcione?

Post by Mulino »

I have been researching my Abruzzese family for quite awhile... while I have been able to go as far back as 1520- a new entry I just uncovered in a book by Nicola Cavaliere has left me in need of information.

In the back of Nicola's book he includes copies of original source documents, one entry headed "Pro Monastario di Gessopalena" and underneath is an entry dated 1470 of a Raimondis di Archinis.. "This duke had land in the area that he donated to the monastery of
Gesso. He was also the feudal lord of Civitella (Messer Raimondo?) but
his residence was in Pendenza, north-west of L'Aquila, and he may have
been from Rome?
all that could be translated...

24 aprilis 1470. Raimundus de Archinis Dnus (dominus?) Terrae
Romae (?), Civitellae, Pendentiae (?) ... confirmavit supradictam
terram in tenimento Cerratini (?) dicto Monasterio Sancti Petri de
Callarariis(?) - Dux in castro Pendentiae eius (?) sign (?) pendenti

My question is where do i stat this research? Pendenza? Civitella? This document Nicola Cavaliere included was from a collection of work by Ludovico Zanotti- I would like to find the original of this document to see what else I can find- if anyone has info. or suggestions please let me know-

Thanks!

Hi Matthew,

Only two things come to me.

1. Contact the publishing house if possible
2. Contact the central archives in Italy>>>>>>

Perhaps you can get some info from this person, he deals in rare books out of Italy.......another former member Peter, used his services quite frequently. Provides an option for English.
