Re: replies to emails?
Hello,
the Public Administration in Italy is not always working well.
If you request civil records or military records I suggest you, in order to receive an answer, instead to risk and wait forever, to:
- write the request in italian, explaining the reason why (for example:for italian citizeship, for a research of family history, ecc)
- send the request via ordinary mail
-add to your request a self addresses envelope + photocopy of your ID + international reply coupon
I hope it helps
bye Riccardo

Re: replies to emails?
I have a great success story regarding the Italian state archives.
I sent an email to the State Archives of Bari, who in turn forwarded my request to the archives in Barletta and then within 2 weeks!!! mailed me the info i requested, all w/o fee (and I did ask how much this service would cost).
However, I'm guessing that the regional archives are more polished than their municipal counterparts

Re: replies to emails?
I know that Archivio di Stato of Enna and Catania, answered via ordinary mail after receiving an email from someone who was looking for his ancestry from US.
Bur for example I wrote to Archivio di Stato of Frosinone last August, and I didn't receive any reply yet.
So that is the reason why I strongly suggest anyone who don't want to wait forever to send the requests like I stated above.
Good luck for your researches,
bye Riccardo

If you have any trouble with obtaining your certificate let me know and I will provide her email to you for help. She'll be in town here for a few more weeks and then she'll be home.
Re: replies to emails?
