I have this trouble too..am forever requesting my password at each site and then constantly changing it. Nonna, glad you and vj found the other image service. It usually works quite well on smaller files up to 1024 KB. I use it a lot now too.

Lee, sending you a PM.

What are those imaging sites for? When I go to the Ellis Island website and find a manifest and click it brings it up. Is there benefit in using these sites? And how do you use them?

Thanks,
Simone

Thanks,
Used for linking images on your computer to a website......so you 1st save the manifest, census or whatever to your computer, remember where you saved it at, then go to the hosting site, browse your file til you locate the image, then each hosting site is a little different. On ImageShack, you click on "host it," on uploadfile, I think it says "upload," & I forgot what you click on for photobucket, but you should be able to figure it out. When the hosting site is done, you get a new oage with links & here again each is different: on ImageShack, copy & paste "direct link"; on upload, copy & paste "image for friends."

Hope this answers your question.
