Looking for relatives Ungaro/Aiello

My Grandfather's name was William J. Ungaro and Grandmother was Mary Aiello. My father was Enrico Ungaro, and he was born in San Atonio, TX. Hope to find some relatives! :mrgreen:

I'm not sure about Ungaro but Aiello is very common in Italy. If you want to hook up with possible family it would be helpful if you could post where in Italy they came from. My great great grandmother was an Aiello.

I don't have much info on my Grandparents, but I believe my father said my Grandmother was from Calabria(Calabriese is what he mentioned) Not much more than that...

OK. Well, let us know if you would like us to try to find out where she is from. We can look up records for you but will need more information. Mary Aiello is the Calabrese version of Mary Smith - there are too many. If you can give us a birthyear (even approximate would help) we might be able to figure it out. Did she come in through New York? Did they come together or meet here?
My Aiello's were tailors. They came from Montalto Uffugo but the Aiello name is very popular thoughout Calabria - esspecially in Cosenza Province. In fact there is a village named Aiello Calabro there.
