I have been reading it is taking a year or longer to process applications for citizenship here in the USA. Is it quicker to go to Italy and have it done there? What I read says all the paperwork goes to italy and is then sent back to the USA when they are done doing it there. Is this information correct? If I go to Italy and apply what would the time frame be?
Thanks

Re: dual citizenship
Here is an excellent link to info on applying from within Italy:
http://www.expatsinitaly.com/citizenshi ... italy.html
as for the wait....each and every state will vary, and what one person experiences in New York is not going to be the same experience for someone in Chicago.....whose estimated wait time is two years.
