Hi there... sorry to come in the middle of a conversation.... I have a Guiseppe Greco in my family tree, unknown birth place. He married a Caterina Grammatico from Trapani. They were married circa 1894 in Tunisia, and had 6 children. Caterina is my great great Aunt, they are also Claudia Cardinale's great grandparents.
There may not be a match here, but many, people who settled in Tunisia early 1900's came from Sicily, most Trapani and surrounding areas like Cefaul.
I would place Guiseppe Greco to be born around 1865. Cheers Sandra (Australia)

Hi Dave,
I was just fooling around to see what was available on the site, it's pretty neat. Go toTripani and after you select you'll see all the area's that they have info for at the bottom in alphabetical order. What I did is go to Trapani from those links and all the surnames they have info for will come up on your left. Select one and it gives you a gedcom for relationship.
Great site wild spirit!
Editing - here is the link after I got to Trapani

Re: Greco from Cefalú
Dear all Thankyou for your kind respones. I merely only posted Giuseppe Greco on this site to help out others. The Greco surname is a very popular name all over Italy and yes it could be one in a million. I am researching the GRAMMATICO family. I have the original marriage certificate which I found in the LDS microfilms for TRAPANI, which is where his wife (Caterin Grammatico) was born. If any one else is researching the GRECO surname in the TRAPANI area, well at least you know that was a Guiseppe Greco that settled in Tunisia along with many other GRECO families.
For those of you that are interested, here is another site for Tunisa. Father Prignot has transcribed all catholic marriages 1801-1949, and has just completed up to letter G for Baptisms. Many originating from Trapani, Cefalu and other surrounding towns.
