Hi All,
My great grandfather was born in Amblar when the town was Austrian. Now Amblar is Italian. I would like to get citizenship through him (since I can't through my Italian great grandmother). Does anyone know of any loop-holes or laws that would allow a parent from this transferred region to pass down citizenship?
Thanks
Charlie
Town of Amblar, Italy, was Amblar, Austria, before WWI

Because of the Austrian factor prior to WW I, the process is a bit more involved. Take a look at this site ---

for some information on the procedures. There are some readers on here that may be able to help with documents, etc. I can also put you in touch with a contact I have in Trentino.

Thanks Sal, that helps.
It seems that a law was passed in 2000, that might allow me to get citizenship. I'll have to visit the consule in los angeles and get the specifics.
