Re: FHC Films
These films would include recent migrants to the Comune who are not native born and who have the intent to reside there. Typically they are spouses of native born individuals, but that is not always the case.
Hope that helps

Not exactly, James.
It's the register of the foreign citizens which became italians.

Re: FHC Films
Really? I've never used them before. I thought that back in the 1800's these records (Records the Mormon Church filmed which she is referring to) referred to Citizens of the Comune. Wasn't it kind of unusual for people to migrate from another country to a town in Italy in the period 1809-1899 (the period in question) ?wishyou wrote:Not exactly, James.

I found this reference:
IV. Cittadinanza, which means “citizenship,â€
Re: FHC Films
I actually have some of those records in my files. Let me pul one up and see what it says since I also assumed, like James that it also included those who became citizens of that comune.

Re: FHC Films
Well it appears to be for a Lazzerino Bruno, native of Reggio Calabria. Did he perhaps move into the comune you filmed? It appears that while he was born and is presently living in Reggio, he would like to move to this town.nuccia wrote:Ok..I think this is one of them. Hope someone can read it! LOL

Works well with what I thought earlier actually.
Thanks for posting this!

Yes, it seems he became a citizen of this comune. Now I also have a copy of my Dad's records that I ordered when I applied for dual citizenship and the record clearly states that he became a citizen of my mom's comune after marrying her.
But thats another story.

Re: FHC Films
Thank you for your help. I saw it listed on the films and I wasn't sure if I should order it or not.
I read on one of my G-aunt's birth certificate that her father was far from the comune- he hadn't arrived in the US yet for another 3 yrs.- so, I wouldn't be able to find where he was that way other than check each comune. Does anyone have another idea of how to locate where he went?
