Need translation help--US birth cert to Italian

Hi all!

I need help from someone with experience of delayed birth certificates in Italy --if possible!

My US born father has what we call a "Delayed Record of Birth". This is a birth certificate which was not filed at or near the time of birth, but many years later. I need to translate this certificate for a dual citizenship application. In Italian, would "Atto ritardato di nascita" correctly convey the meaning of "Delayed Record of Birth"? Would "Certificato ritardato" be better? Or "Registrazione ritardata"--in fact, under the title "Delayed Record of Birth" are the words "Registered after seventh birthday".

Hi Peggy,

I had the same problem in reverse with my grandfathers birth. Born 1889 in Italy but not registered until 1907. The registrars didn't have a special name for it but it did have a paragraph of explaination why it was being registered 18years later.
