Passenger lists for those leaving the US??

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Passenger lists for those leaving the US??

Post by nrepole »

Hi all

I know that passenger lists exist for people coming to the US, but I am just wondering if they exist for those leaving the US. I know that my relative Michelangelo Repole (dob: 14 May, 1885) came to the US in 1912 with his wife Maria Michele Lettieri (aka Mary Repole), and that he left a few years later to go back to Rapone, Italy - but I don't know when...So passenger lists would be handy. Does anyone have any ideas?

Regards,
Nick

In the USA and in most countries departure records are few and far between. In the USA concerns are for those entering and records are maintained. Perhaps the census office (Uffico di Anagrafe) inRapone would have records of their return to that town. =Peter=
