S.S. Rex arrival 8/5/1937

Post by mcleveland »

My grandmother arrived in America on August 5, 1937 from Naples, Italy via the S.S. Rex. I am having trouble locating her name on any manifest since the ship docked at a Port in NY other than Ellis Island. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Her last name was Morola...any help would be most appreciated

Ancestry has the manifest log, however it is 133 pages, no return on Morola, other possibilities for spelling variation, but we need a first name,
and birthdate would be helpful.

Sorry, didn't see your last post, happy to have helped out.

Manifest clearly states her father on page two, as well as her mother's name and surname. Town of origin is listed as well.

Click on the links above, you can enlarge image by clicking anywhere on the image. To save or print, right click on image, in drop down menu, you will see the options of save picture or print picture. I save all images to my picture program.

I use Ancestry.com, a subscription site, well worth the money when doing genealogy. Saves some time in accessing original documents.
I also have access to Footnote, which contains original naturalization record images among their collections.

There was no signature, sorry.

IG is a wonderful forum, we have a fantastic team!! All members go out of their way to help others locate material, for free!! And all for the love of genealogy......can't believe others would try to profit off of a simple lookup!!

Happy to have helped out, god bless!!
